“No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or by emotional appeal” (Marilyn Ferguson) It requires a Paradigm shift. A shift in the way we see things. Only Allah holds the hearts and minds of people and only his ayahs (in nature, inside us and in the Quran) can make one see differently.  So what are we supposed to do? We are supposed to guide them to his ayahs ( in nature, in ourselves and in the Quran) in the most relevant manner according to the space and time we are provided with.  It’s a path one needs to tread by oneself. One can only show the other the guide posts.  That’s our test. If we don’t do it someone else will till his will is done !  It’s better to Surrender to the will of God for if we don’t we will surely be bent to the will of men! #havefaith #surrender

What’s so wrong with the modern skeptic is his adherence to a unique flexible rigidity. Weird?!. Paradoxical?! Exactly! His inability to actually break the barriers of logic which provide him with a very sharp, intelligent and often correct ( yet incomplete) view of this world and life are also a major cause of his addictive yet comfortable seclusion. Breaking barriers means being ready to get uncomfortable. Getting ready to be vulnerable. It takes a lot of guts to be inclusive. Not easy to walk the talk. Skepticism should teach one to question ones own comfort and choices. Weighing ones own limitations constantly against a universal criterion. Breaking the barriers also means being ready to learn. Learn to see the truth. Learn to accept our own limitations and learn to accept that we could be actually wrong. It also sometimes means to defy the most logical obvious reality in order to defy ones own self and surrender. It is this sort of skepticism that actually led Ibrahim (AS)

In this day and age the greatest dichotomy faced by the Muslim mind between ‘what is’ and ‘what should be’ has led the mind to doubt the viability of action. Action that is based on belief in the eternal to manage the affairs of the ephemeral. It is this very thought process which needs reformation. It is hard to translate something into action which is not prevalent or present in the society around us.  The reason our beliefs do not translate into a solid presence is our inability to think the way we should. This hindrance is huge as it blinds us from a reality which can very much be.  Such a reformation of the thought process which encourages faith and discourages doubt.   Doubt has led us to the state we are in. We cannot have faith without dealing in faith and faith rejects doubt in its essence.  To progress towards a more harmonious relationship between the two, it is vital at first to search for a safe place, a middle ground, the Sirat e mustaqeem. The very notion of owning an idea is in contradiction to the fickle reality of human intellect and existence.  A construct designed specially to ‘other’ and create a monopoly over the ownership of certain ideas. In complete contrast the Islamic perspective of ownership holds a person responsible for an idea but denies monopoly. In islam even an idea is a trust from Allah for the momin which entails responsibility and with that free and unlimited access! #havefaith #surrender

رجوع ،مگر کیسے؟ رجوع دراصل لوٹنے کا عمل ہے ۔  یہ لوٹنا  توبہ  کا بھی اصل ہے۔ لوٹ کر اپنے رویوں ، اپنے افعال ، اپنے اخلاق غرض یہ کہ  اپنے تمام تر وجود اور اُس سے سرزد ہونے اور نہ ہونے والے اثرات  پرنظرِ ثانی ہے۔ نظرِ ثانی اس لیے تاکہ جو اثر مرتب ہوا اس میں بہتری لائی جائے اور اگر بالکل ہی کوئی اثر مرتب نہیں ہوا تو اپنے آپ کا جائزہ لیا جائے۔ ہم بحیثیت قوم رجوع اور خصوصاًرجوع الی اللہ کی اکثر بات کرتے ہیں۔ مگر اس کی نوعیت کیاہوگی اُس  کو بالکل مخاطب نہیں کرتے۔ رجوع چونکُہ ایک  عمل ہے تو لازم ہے کہ اس عمل  میں بہت سے عناصر  شامل ہوں گے۔ ان عناصر میں سے سب سے اہم عنصر تبدیلی ہے۔ اگر تبدیلی واقعہ نہیں ہورہی تو لازماً عمل غیر مکمل ہے۔ حال  ہی میں پاکستان میں پانی کی قلت اور مستقبل کے لئے حکمت عملی پر بہت سی بحثیں پڑھنے کو ملیں۔ نکات تمام ہی اہم تھے- نافرمانی پر رزق کا چھن جانا، اطاعت  پر رزق کی فراوانی۔زمین کے اُوپر سے بھی اور نیچے سے  بھی! ان  نکات پر زیادہ  مباحث دینی طبقے  کی طرف سے پڑھنے کو ملے۔ دوسری طرف  پانی کم استعمال کرنے اوراُس کو ذخیرہ کرنے کی مادی تدابیر  پر کامل انحصار

کبھی جو راستہ پوچھ بیٹھے  مجھ سے کوئی تو لبوں پہ میرے اک مسکان آکے رک سی جاتی ہے خیال آتا ہے نہ جانے،  یہ کتنا بھٹکا راہی ہے جو راہ دریافت کرنے کو بھی اک گم راہ سے ٹکرایا پھر یہ اُمید کے شائد، اِسی کی مدد کی خاطر ابھی تک رب نے روکا ہے مجھے مجبور کرتی ہے کہ دیا جلاؤں میں جو گم ہو گئی مجھ سے وہ راہ اس کو د کھلاؤں میں ابھی ہر سو اندھیرا ہے نہ جانے کتنا چلنا ہے نہ جانے کب سویرا ہے خیال پوچھتا ہے تو، اُسے تھپک کر سُلاتی ہوں۔ پھر میں دیا جلاتی ہوں رب کے سامنے اپنا   دامن بھی پھیلاتی ہوں خدایا معاف کردے تو اپنے اِس بندے کو جو رستہ بھول بیٹھا ہے اِسے رستہ دکھا دے تو روانہ جب سفر پر اپنے وہ راہی پھر سے ہوتا ہے پلٹ کر میں سرِ راہ  پھر آکے بیٹھ جاتی ہوں کہ اپنا کام باقی ہے ابھی اتمام باقی ہے۔ ثمين صدف

اپنے بچوں کا بچپن اور جوانی ضائع  نہ ہونے بچوں میں اللہ نے قدرتی طور پر سیکھنے اور جذب کرنے کی صلاحیت ہم سے کہیں زیادہ رکھی ہوتی ہے۔ آج کل آئے دن روز باصلاحیت بچے اور نوجوان  سوشل میڈیا پر اپنا لوہا منوا رہے ہیں۔ کبھی گا کر، کبھی ناچ کر ، کبھی اُونچی جگہوں سے چھلانگیں لگا کر، کبھی کچھ ایجاد کرکے، کبھی کسی بھوکے کو کھانا کھلا کے۔ غرض کے صلاحیت آپ سے آپ تشہیر کی محتاج ہوگئی۔ یعنی اگر کسی میں کوئی صلاحیت ہے تو اُس کو فوری محبت حاصل کرنا بے حد آسان ہوگیا ہے۔ سیلف لو اور نارسزم کی ایسی داستانیں رقم کی جارہی ہیں کہ جن کی نظیر نہیں اور یہ سب  موٹیویشن کے لئے۔ لیکن بڑھتی تو صرف ڈپریشن ہے۔ کبھی کلی کو دن میں پھول بنتے دیکھا ہے؟ کبھی بیج کو  دن میں درخت بنتے دیکھا ہے؟ نہین نہ؟  تو خدارا عقل کے ناخن لو اپنے دماغ کے وقتی چسکے کی خاطر معصوم بچوں کو تشہیر کر کر کے سستی شہرت کا عادی نہ بناؤ، زندگی کے اُتار چڑھاؤ سے ناواقف بچوں کو پھلنے پھولنے دو۔ کسی ایسی پہاڑی پر مت چڑھاؤ جہاں سے واپسی کا راستہ ہی نا ملے۔ تشہیر صلاحیت کو پنپنے نہیں دیتی۔ محنت اور سفر کی تھکان سے فرار اور شارٹ کٹ مت مہیا کر
